Gcobisa joined the NGO sector in the early 1990s, working with Cape Town Job Creation which supported entrepreneurs in the informal sector. She later joined PSP, becoming Office Manager with responsibility for financial oversight.
In 2015, she joined Pearson Marang Education Trust, which supports schools in deep rural areas, in the role of Programme Manager. She is currently pursuing studies in Business Administration
